The Archabbey Gift Shop building on Highway 545 will close its doors on January 19, 2024, at the end of the day.
The physical transition and consolidation of the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Gift Shop and Scholar Shop, St. Meinrad, IN, will be completed on January 19, 2024.
The newly consolidated shop, Saint Meinrad Books and Gifts, located on the first floor of Newman Hall with the Seminary and School of Theology, will continue to provide a centrally located and comfortable space for all visitors to Saint Meinrad. The hope of the transition is to better meet the needs of our guests, retreatants, and students while supporting the monks of Saint Meinrad Archabbey in their mission of prayer and work.
The Archabbey Gift Shop building on Highway 545 will close its doors on January 19, 2024, at the end of the day. The current website, archabbeygifts.com, and Facebook page, Saint Meinrad Archabbey Gift Shop, will be unavailable until further notice.
As we complete our internal transitions, Saint Meinrad Books and Gifts will be open for regular hours until January 19, 2024, and then for limited hours through February and March. Please contact our Switchboard at 812-357-6611 or 800-581-6905 for information regarding the Saint Meinrad Books and Gifts hours. Parking for our guests is available at the Guest House & Retreat Center.
The Abbey Caskets showroom, currently located in the Archabbey Gift Shop building on Highway 545, will remain in its current location until further notice. Guests may enter the Abbey Caskets showroom from the west side of the building. Abbey Caskets showroom hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. CT.
While this has been a difficult decision, we have greatly appreciated the prayers and concerns expressed by our friends and guests.
Saint Meinrad Books and Gifts will begin by operating on a limited schedule as we continue to work through the consolidation process.
